Washington, D.C. - After months of speculation and the encouragement of Republicans across the country, Log Cabin Republicans National Board of Directors member Dan Innis has formally declared his candidacy for the House of Representatives in New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District.

"The issues facing our nation are significant, and I am a firm believer in our ability to move forward boldly," Innis stated. "To do so, we need strong leadership in Washington, and I am committed to solving problems and addressing the issues that affect our future as a nation. New Hampshire voters are committed to liberty, freedom, and smaller government, principles that I hold dear. I look forward to engaging with voters and discussing the best ways to move America forward."

"Knowing Mr. Innis both personally and professionally, I can say without reservation that he has the demeanor and experience necessary to get things done in Washington for the people of New Hampshire," Log Cabin Republicans President Gregory T. Angelo added. "In an increasingly contentious Capitol Hill, I know Mr. Innis will bring a refreshing outsider's perspective to legislation as a gay Republican unafraid to shake things up without the scandal-scarred pedigree of the district's current incumbent. The people of New Hampshire - and the country - deserve better, and Mr. Innis is just the candidate to give it to them."
